Franklin Fire Station No. 2

The original Fire Station No. 2, on Highway 96 in Franklin, Tennessee was built in 1984. The fastgrowing community, expanding fire department personnel and the anticipated expense of repairing the original building required the city to purchase the 1.86 acre parcel next to the existing facility. After months of planning, the Olympian Team was chosen as the general contractor. Olympian began construction in August of 2003, with a construction schedule of twelve months, the expansion of Fire Station No. 2 was off to a great start. Phase I consisted of demolition of the existing fire house, construction of the new apparatus bay and the new living quarters. During Phase II of construction the old living quarters were demolished, the new day room was constructed and the existing truck bays were re-worked. The final result was a total of seven truck bays and new living quarters complete with an office, kitchen, bedrooms, and exercise room.
The 15,510-square-foot facility, the city’s largest fire station, houses Franklin’s hazardous materials response vehicle and up to 15 firefighters per day. Fire Station No. 2 is able to successfully protect the South Franklin community due to the personnel and technology they are capable of accommodating.
