Three Rivers Medical Center

Olympian Construction Company completed the addition and renovation of a two-phase project at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Kentucky. The hospital had a demand for new space and they knew Olympian was just what they needed to successfully complete the project.

Olympian focused on understanding and meeting all of the hospital’s needs. With the hospital open 24 hours a day, Olympian Construction phased the work so that daily operations were successfully coordinated with the staff and patients on a daily basis. Phase I consisted of a 5,000 square foot addition of a new emergency room which was a ground-up-construction of a brick building. This new addition consisted of 12 patient rooms, an isolation room, a trauma patient room and state of the art bedside check-in capabilities.

Working together, the design and construction team were able to meet and cohere to a very aggressive construction schedule which enabled the owner to move in to the Phase I space in six months. Construction of Phase I included concrete masonry walls, steel columns, bar joists, an EPDM roof system including a small lean to section of standing seam metal roof and an exterior masonry veneer. Olympian was able to move smoothly in to Phase II, which consisted of a 3,500-square-foot renovation of converting the existing emergency room into a Waiting and Triage area for the new Emergency Room. This area included a doctor’s On-Call room and Locker Room for the staff. Olympian completed the 3,500-square-foot renovation so rapidly that the owner was able to move into Phase II within two months.
